We started The Gunner Dortch Memorial Foundation to take a two way approach to advocate for motorcycle awareness. First, we want to educate the public on both safe driving practices to increase awareness of motorcycles, as well as negative driving behaviors to avoid to lessen your chances of being involved in an auto-motorcycle accident. Second, we strive to educate motorcyclists on the importance of being aware of your surroundings, and the need to anticipate and avoid situations that may lead to an accident. Let's work together to bring everyone home safely!
The Gunner Dortch Memorial Foundation was started by Gunner's family with the goal of fostering motorcycle awareness within the community. We lost our son when he was tragically killed by a negligent driver while riding his motorcycle. The pain is something we will never recover from. We knew we had to do whatever we could to prevent other parents from living the same nightmare. We hope to help decrease the number of motorcycle accidents and fatalities that happen on our roads each year. We wanted to honor Gunner's memory by offering resources, events, and promotional materials that educate and remind about the need to be observant for motorcycles while driving. Hopefully together we can save someone else's child.
